Marjorie Medley
(nee Boone), age 85 of Chesterton, IN, passed away peacefully on Sunday,
March 10, 2019 at Chesterton Manor Nursing Home.
Marjorie was born
on December 20, 1933 in Chicago, IL.
She was a loving
mother and sister, enjoyed her rose garden, and volunteered during her
retirement at the food pantry, Meals-on-Wheels, and a local church-run
thrift store. Marjorie enjoyed working as a secretary and became the
executive secretary to the plant president of National Steel in Portage, a
position she held for several years before she retired in 2000.
Marjorie is
survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Gregory and Barbara Medley of
Chesterton, IN; her sisters, Eileen Law of Hobart, IN, Evelyn Nicksic of
Salem, WI and Elaine McCormick of Springfield, MO; brother, Edward Langan of
Mesa, AZ; her granddaughter, Nicole Pieszchala of Hanna, IN; and three great
grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her sisters, Eleanor Langan and
Mary Louise Langan.
Marjorie and her
siblings lost their mother while all were young and treasured the time they
spent together. Family was very important to Marjorie. During her childhood
she loved to laugh and have fun, taking trips to the beach at Lake Michigan
and having ice cream at Tolleston Dairy Maid. All her family, including
aunts and uncles brought great delight to her.
Marjorie requested
to be cremated with no attended services. The family is grateful for the
condolences, but declines flowers and donations.
