Eva-Maria Stevens, 69, passed away peacefully November 21, 2019, at her home in Goodyear, AZ.

Eva was born February 20, 1950, in Herzogenaurach, West Germany, to Hans and Maria Wewetzer.

In 1968, while still in Germany, Eva met and married Edward (Larry) Stevens. After moving to Chesterton they raised their family here.

Eva is survived by her husband James R. White of Goodyear; her son Michael (Mary) Stevens of Fountain Hills, AZ, and her daughter Tracy (Matthew) Koontz of Warsaw, IN. Also surviving are grandchildren Payton and Kaylee Stevens, and Alexandra, Dayne and Corissa Koontz, as well as a brother Paul (Zdenke) Wewetzer, of Herzogenaurach.

Eva was preceded in death by her parents Hans and Maria Wewetzer, brother Georg Wewetzer, sister Rita Vollweiter and former husband Larry Stevens.

After raising her children, Eva attended college and became a nurse specializing in long-term care. She moved out West where she met and married James R. White. She and Jim enjoyed traveling around the world, especially back to Germany to visit family. Eva retired from nursing in 2010. She relished her visits and phone calls from family and friends, and she enjoyed relaxing outdoors and gardening.

A private memorial service is planned at a later date.
