Schutz McGue, age 90, died on March 23, 2018, in Mount Pleasant, SC.
Rosemary was born
at Mercy Hospital in Gary, IN, on May 6, 1927, to the late Joseph and Laura
A big loving family
is left to cherish her memory, her seven children, Frank (Lucy) McGue,
Thomas (Patricia) McGue, Jeanne (John) McGue Corral, Kathleen (Marc) McGue
Morey, Laura McGue Maves, John (Tonya) McGue and Brian (Susan) McGue; 19
grandchildren, Justin (Kristi) Jaques, Kristin (Nick) Kirt, Jennifer Jaques
(Warner Mayer), Colleen (Jordan) Cloyd, Tim McGue, Jackie (Joey) Spence,
Eileen (Richard) Finnegan, Jessica Jaques, Greg (Madison) Maves, Mark Morey,
Daniel Maves, Shannon McGue, Melissa McGue, Christopher McGue, John Connor
McGue, Curtis Maves, Thomas McGue, Kyle McGue and Megan McGue; 12
great-grandchildren and a big extended family of sisters-in-law, nieces,
nephews, great-nieces and -nephews and friends.
She was predeceased
by her parents and 10 siblings.
St. Mark’s Catholic School in Gary until the eighth grade. She graduated
from Lew Wallace High School. Rosemary earned her RN certification at St.
Catherine’s School of Nursing in East Chicago in 1948 at the age of 21. She
received further sub-specialty training in pediatric nursing at St. Louis
University, and later she went on to become Director of Nursing for St.
Catherine’s Hospital pediatric department. She married Frank McGue on August
13, 1951, at St. Mark’s Catholic Church. She took a break from her nursing
career to raise their seven children. She resumed her career while in her
50’s and worked full time as a nurse in Hobart until she was 80 years old.
She was a doting mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She will be
greatly missed and lovingly remembered by all.
Mass of Christian
Burial will be held on Wednesday, March 28, 2018, at St. Patrick Catholic
Church, 638 N. Calumet Rd., Chesterton, IN, with Father Jon Plavcan
Visitation will be
held on Tuesday, March 27, from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., with a Prayer
Service at 7 p.m., at Edmonds & Evans Funeral Home, 517 Broadway,
Rosemary may be made to Catholic Charities.
