Back To Front Page

Carol Ann (Lindquist) Kohler, age 81, a lifelong Chesterton resident, went to her eternal home on Thursday, November 22, 2018.

Carol was born on November 15, 1937, in Michigan City, Indiana, to Lucille and Oakley Lindquist.

She was preceded in death by both of her parents; husband, Gordan Kohler; and her brother, Thomas Lindquist.

Carol is survived by all her well-loved children, Gary (Jean) Kohler of Chesterton, Tim (Donna) Kohler of Valparaiso, Beth Molinaro of Hobart, Amy (George) Marciniak of Hobart; loving, doting grandmother of 16 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; her good friend and sister-in-law, Carol Lindquist; and many nieces, nephews and friends.

Carol married Gordon on July 2, 1955. They were married for 50 years. Carol was an excellent cook and worked as a Head Chef for the Chesterton High School. She was the manager of the Costas Foods Deli for many years and her most enjoyable work happened at the Chesterton Moose where she along with her helper/husband, Gordy would pack the house with her tasty cuisine. But her most loved work was that of caring for babies. Carol ministered to her own families’ children, and also the babies at Liberty Bible Church for three years where her “baby-whispering talents” were put hard to work.

There will be a funeral service on Thursday, November 29, 2018, at 12:00 p.m., at Edmonds & Evans Funeral Home, 517 Broadway, Chesterton, IN 46304.

There will be a visitation held on Thursday, November 29, 201,8 from 10:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m., at Edmonds & Evans Funeral Home.

Memorials may be given to St. Agnes Adult Day Care Center in Valparaiso, 1859 Harrison Blvd., Valparaiso, IN 46385, or the Liberty Bible Church Children’s Ministry, 824 N. Calumet Avenue, Chesterton, IN 46304.
