Services Sunday for Clara Elizabeth Wilmsen

Clara Elizabeth Wilmsen, age 83 of Valparaiso, passed away on January 19, 2018, at Rittenhouse Village in Valparaiso.

She was born on February 11, 1934, in Batesville, AR, to Charles and Edna Causby, both of whom preceded her in death.

On August 16, 1958, in Crown Point, IN, she married George Wilmsen, who preceded her in death on March 13, 1989.

Clara is survived by her children: Carl (Lori) Wilmsen of Chesterton, IN, Kurtis Wilmsen of Austin, TX, Paul (Brenda) Wilmsen of Millington, IL, and Teresa (Nick) Macron of Austin, TX; her grandchildren: Eric (Alejandra), Ann Grihalva (Peter), Sara, Abigail, Emily, Scott, Gabrielle, Collette, Julia, and Alex; and by her siblings: Pat Stohl, Alice Strickey, Ann Rasco, Winfred Causby, and Gina Skinner.

She is also preceded in death by her daughter, Vivian Anne Ballard, her daughter-in-law, Nancy Wilmsen, and by her siblings: Ira Ruth Farris, Richard Causby, Charles Causby, and Catherine Rasco.

Clara enjoyed being with family and loved her grandchildren dearly. Clara was a devoted community volunteer and was the recipient of several Presidents awards for her excellence in volunteering. She also enjoyed gardening and reading.

Funeral services will be held on Sunday, January 28, 2018, at 4 p.m., at White-Love Funeral Home, 525 South 2nd Street, Chesterton, IN, with Pastor Allen Wright officiating.

The family will receive friends from 2 p.m. until time of service at the funeral home.
