Services Saturday for Maureen Ryan Cook, 74

Maureen Ryan Cook, 74, of Valparaiso, passed away Sunday, October 14, 2018.

She was born May 9, 1944, in Evanston, IL, to William and Helen (Jones) Ryan.

Maureen was an avid reader of history and mystery novels, a connoisseur of old movies, lover of flowers and crossword aficionado.

On December 10, 1966, she married James J. Cook, at St. Patrickís Catholic Church, in Chesterton.

He survives along with their children: Kristin (Lou) DeLuna, Michael (Kim) Cook, and Ryan Cook, siblings: Mary Cook, Dennis (Ruthann) Ryan, Michael (Laura) Ryan, Kevin (Amanda) Ryan and Robert Ryan, and grandchildren Alexis and Trey DeLuna, and Garret, Ethan and Denali Cook.

She was preceded in death by her parents and siblings, Therese Horlocker and Larry Ryan.

A visitation will be held Friday, from 4 -- 7 p.m., at Moeller Funeral Home, Valparaiso, and Saturday, 10 – 11 a.m., at St. Paul Catholic Church.

The funeral mass will begin at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, at St. Paul Catholic Church, 1855 Harrison Blvd., Valparaiso, Fr. Doug Mayer officiating with cremation to follow. Entombment of urn will take place at St. Patrickís Cemetery, Chesterton.

Memorial donations may be made to the American Alzheimerís Association or St. Agnes Adult Day Care Center.
