Leonard E.
Jankowski Jr., age 68 of Chesterton, passed away on June 2, 2018 in Michigan
City.
He was born on
February 26, 1950 in Michigan City to Leonard E. Jankowski Sr. and Marie
Jankowski, both of whom preceded him in death.
On August 9, 1980,
he married Joann Dietrich Jankowski ,who survives in Chesterton.
He is also survived
by his children: Cherie (Brian) Gill of South Haven, IN, Sandy (Michael)
Smith of Port St. Lucie, FL, and Leonard (Amber) Jankowski of Navarre, FL;
his grandchildren: Devin, Mikaela, Blake, Alyssa, Lauryn, Madeline, Tyrra,
Ella and Lylyn; his sisters, Carol (Steve) Krause of South Bend, IN, and
Sharon Jankowski of Michigan City, IN; his fur babies, Zeus and Bailey; and
many nieces and nephews.
Lenny owned and
operated Memorial Monuments for many years. He was also a member of the
Steel Workers Local 6787. He loved golfing, bowling, fishing, and playing
bass guitar in his band.
Funeral services
will be held on Friday, June 8, 2018, at 11 a.m., at White-Love Funeral
Home, 525 South 2nd Street, Chesterton, IN, with Pastor Lorrayne Rizer
officiating.
The family will
receive friends on Thursday, June 7, 2018 from 3 p.m. until 7 p.m. at the
funeral home.
In lieu of flowers,
donations can be made to the Fisher House Foundation for military and
families, as Lenny has children and grandchildren currently serving.
