Lorene Anna (Wilhelm) King,
age 88 of Chesterton, IN, passed away on July 16, 2018.
She was born on April 16,
1930 in Jansen, Nebraska, to Louis and Anna (Moeller) Wilhelm. She had many
fond childhood memories of being raised on their family farm in Jansen with
their two mules.
Lorene was the fifth of
eight children. She was preceded in death by her parents and all seven
siblings and spouses: Alvin (Phylis), Herb (Violet), Leonard (Jean), Evelyn
(Roy), Ames, Ray (Betty), Vernon (Joan) and Allen (Marilyn) Wilhelm.
On December 19, 1948, she
married David Anthony King in Concordia, Kansas. They lived in Beatrice,
Nebraska before moving to Indiana in 1951.
She is survived by her
children, Donald (Sheri), Linda (Sam) Coen, David (Linda), Kenneth, and John
(Sue) King. Her life revolved around her family including 15 grandchildren,
24 great-grandchildren and three great great-grandchildren. Lorene will be
laid to rest alongside her loving husband, David Anthony King and her
beloved daughter, Karen (King) Lunsford at Chesterton Cemetery.
Her family and God were the
great loves of her life. Lorena was a member of St. Paulís Lutheran Church
for 60 plus years. She greatly enjoyed her church friends, many of whom were
there from the beginning.
There will be a funeral
service held on Thursday, July 19, 2018, at St. Paul Lutheran Church, 106 E.
1100 N. Chesterton, IN, 46304, at 11:00 a.m., with Rev. Erich Fickel
officiating. Burial will follow at Chesterton Cemetery. There will be a
visitation held on Thursday, July 19, 2018, from 10:00 a.m. until the time
of service, at 11:00 a.m., at the church.
