Local visitation Thursday for John Click, Jr.

Elder John Click Jr., was born June 5, 1928, in Haldeman, KY. He passed away on February 26, 2018.

John was preceded in death by his wife of 57 years, Betty Pearl Click; son, James Click; daughter, Patricia Childers; and granddaughter, Amy Dixon.

He is survived by his daughter, Kathy (George) Patitsas; son, John W. Click; grandson, Chris (Susie Kim) Childers; granddaughters, Amanda (Kevin) Martin, Megan (Shane) Murphy, Jessi (Bob) Zatarski, Margret Patitsas; great-grandchildren, Liam and Ainslee Martin.

John loved telling stories of his time growing up in Kentucky with his wife Betty. They knew each other their entire lives and were married on August 24, 1950. John built a house in Morehead while working at the brickyards and coal mines. In the early 60s he was employed at U.S. Steel and moved his family to Indiana. He retired after 26 years from U.S. then went on to be head of maintenance at Pines Village retirement home. John had a strong faith in God and was an Elder in the Bethel Primitive Baptist Church. He loved blue grass music and his family has fond memories of him joking, singing, playing his guitar and being ornery. He loved his family and friends and will be greatly missed.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, March 1, 2018, from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at Edmonds & Evans Funeral Home, Portage Chapel, 6941 Central Ave., Portage, IN 46368.

Visitation will also be held on Saturday, March 3, 2018, from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., at Lane Stucky Gray Funeral Home, 808 Old Flemingburg Rd., Morehead, KY 40351, burial to follow at Newsill Cemetery in Morehead, KY.
