Joseph Michael
Brennan died peacefully on March 17, 2018 at the age of 68.
He was born on
February 28, 1950, in Chicago, Illinois, and raised in Chesterton, Indiana,
by his parents, George and Norma Brennan.
Joe served in the
Navy and was a Vietnam Veteran, also doing tours of duty in New Zealand,
Australia and Hong Kong.
Joe met his wife,
Nancy, in California while he was stationed in Long Beach, California. They
moved to Chesterton and raised their family there while Joe worked at
Bethlehem Steel. He then went back to school at Purdue to pursue a degree
and then went on to become a Pastor. Joe served in three parishes: First
Trinity Lutheran Church in Pittsburgh, PA; Beautiful Savior in Broomfield,
CO; and Risen Christ in Arvada, CO, before retiring in September 2017.
Joe is survived by
his wife, Nancy; his four sons: Dennis (Becky), Daniel (Kate), Timothy
(Theresa) and Stephen (Molly); six grandchildren (Grace, Lucy, Nora, Jack,
Danny, and Lily) and his brothers and sisters (Michael, Susan, Sandra,
Martin and Kevin), as well as 11 nieces and nephews.
