Chesterton community leader Ronald Reglein mourned

Ronald Reglein, formerly of Chesterton, died of a lengthy illness in Michigan on Monday, May 7, 2018.

He is survived by Lynne, loving wife of 57 years; daughter Kim (Steve) Rinaldi; son Kent (Sandy) Reglein; granddaughters Stephanie (Joseph) Carroll and Michelle (Jeff) Monticello; and great-grandson, Nathan Carroll.

He was Valedictorian of his Class of 1958, and attended Wabash College.

Ron was self-employed as a Fire Protection Engineer for 40 years. In his early years, he was President of the Town Board, Plan Commission, and Chamber of Commerce. He was also the Building Inspector.

He was known as “Mr Fixit” by many. There was nothing he couldn't fix, including pump organs. He loved woodworking, flying, and sailing. He was an early morning figure at Peggy Sue's for many years.

As per his request there will be no service. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to CURE PSP at www.psp.org
