Patricia Phillips, age 67 of Porter, IN, passed away on Friday, October 19,
2018, surrounded by her loving family.
She was born on April 29 1951, in Washington, Pennsylvania, to Thomas and
She is survived by her three daughters, Christina Haley, Laura Peidle, and
Susie McColpin; brother, Richard Evans; half-brothers, Bob, Tom, Roger, and
Philip Evans; sister, Sonja (Gerald) Florian; grandchildren, Brittany,
Austin, Savannah, Lucas and Lincoln; long time special friend and support,
Jerry Phillips and many nieces, nephews and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; nephew, Jef Florian; and former
son-in-law, Jonathan Peidle.
Patricia retired from Porter Bank where she was a bookkeeper for many years.
In her new found free time she enjoyed crocheting baby blankets and afghans.
She liked going to the movies and spending time with her family, especially
her grandchildren. Patty also dedicated a good portion of her time
volunteering at Duneland Resale and at Mental Health America. She enjoyed
“the little things” such as working on soduko puzzles, going on adventures
with her daughters, and watching plays at the theaters with her friend
Jerry. Earlier in her life, she was part of a church choir, she enjoyed
playing on a bowling league, enjoyed her annual vacations to Cedar Point and
visiting her family in Pennsylvania. She was a lifelong Christian. Patty was
a loving mother, grandmother and friend. She was an amazing woman with an
extremely kind heart who was honest to a fault and always believed in giving
second chances. She will be very deeply missed.
Celebration of Life services will be held on Sunday, November 18, 2018, at
Liberty Bible Church, 824 N. Calumet Avenue, Chesterton, IN 46304, at 3:00
