Thomas Corzan, Jr.,
age 95, recently of Chesterton, IN, but lived most of his life in
Plainfield, IL, passed away on November 20, 2017, at Addison Pointe.
He was born on May
26, 1922, in Aurora, IL, to Thomas, Sr. and Theresa (Papp) Corzan. They both
preceded him in death.
On July 30, 1950 he
married the love of his life, LaVerne Grusssing, who preceded him in death
in 2016 after 65 years of marriage.
He is survived by
his loving son Thomas E. Corzan (Cynthia) of Chesterton, brothers John
Corzan (Beverly) of Texas, Carl Corzan (June) of California; sisters Mary
Myers, Sylvia (Mutz) Corzan of Texas, and Martha Peterson of Joliet, IL. Tom
has 10 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
He was also
preceded in death by three sons, Jeffery Blair, Kirby Bruce, Michael Bradly
and sister Julie Elkins.
Tom served his
country in the North African and Pacific theaters in WWII stationed in the
USS Cleveland (CL55) and was also a Korean War veteran. His passions were
woodworking, furniture building, aquariums and fishing with his family.
He was a member of
the Plainfield United Methodist Church in Plainfield, IL, where he has so
many loving friends.
A huge thank you to
Addison Pointe, which Tom called home for over a year. He was Papa to all
and all there were “Babe” to him.
Cremation will take
place in Illinois. Memorial services are pending.
