Gipson, age 73, of Beverly Shores, IN, passed away on Monday, February 13,
2017, at Hospice Franciscan Communities.
Bill was born July
5, 1943, in Marion, KY, to Ernest and Evelyn (Robertson) Gipson who preceded
him in death.
Bill was married on
July 5, 1969, in Chicago, IL, to Margaret, who survives.
He is also survived
by children: Frank Eugene Lee (Tina) Gipson and Andrew Ray (Brenda) Gipson
of Michigan City; grandchildren: Lisa Perez of AZ, Stephanie Perez of TX,
Robert Perez of KY, William Gipson of Peru, IN, Erika Gipson of Michigan
City, Jessica Gipson of Michigan City, and Katherine (Wade) Hale of LaPorte,
IN, Mitch (Jamie) Henderlong of Evansville, IN, and Kyle (Steffanie)
Henderlong of Michigan City, IN; great-grandchildren: Kira Paris, Brianna
Paris, Joseph Paris of AZ, Rylee Marie Gipson of IN, Audrianna Hale,
Brantley Hale of LaPorte, IN; brothers and sisters: Guthery (Doris) Gipson,
Raymand Gipson and Mary Luna of Chicago, Il, David (Linda) Gipson of
Morganfield, KY and Shirley Herin of Sturgis, KY.
He was also
preceded in death by his two children: Norma Lynn Perez and Richard Leon
Bill served his
country in the U.S. Army where he was stationed in Korea. Bill was a life
member of V.F.W. Post #2511 of Porter, where he served as Post Commander
eleven times. He was a life member of DAV Chapter #23, serving nine terms as
Sergeant of Arms. Bill was a life-long member of Michigan City Fish and
Game, American Legion Post #37, Loyal Order of the Moose of Chesterton,
Polish Falcons of America Nest #564 of LaPorte, and F.O.E. Aerie #4209 of
Morganfield, KY. Bill was retired from Bulk Transport where he belonged to
Teamsters Union #142.
Bill enjoyed simple
pleasures, working in his garden, old western movies, hanging out in his
“man-cave” garage with friends and chasing after his energetic
family and friends will take place on Thursday, February 16, 2017, from
10:00 a.m. to 12:00 Noon, at Geisen-Carlisle Funeral Home, located at 613
Washington St., Michigan City, IN.
will be held on Thursday, February 16, 2017, at 12:00 Noon at Geisen-Carlisle
Funeral Home, with Pastor Bill Barnes of Faith City Assembly of God
officiating, and Military Honors presented.
