Services Saturday for Wayne S. Thomas

Wayne S. Thomas, age 68 of Chesterton, passed away on April 5, 2017, at Franciscan Saint Anthony Health in Michigan City.

He was born on August 12, 1948, in Harvey, IL, to Robert and Betty Thomas, both of whom preceded him in death.

He was married to Jeanine Enright Thomas for 41 years, who survives in Chesterton.

Wayne is also survived by his son, Scott W. Thomas of Chicago, IL; his siblings: Bonnie (Duane) Miller of LaPorte, IN and Mark (Karan) Thomas of Harvey, IL; his sister-in-law, Kathleen Grindel of Elwood, IL.; six nieces and nephews: Karen (Keith) Bohne of New Lenox, IL, Mark (Julie) Armor of New Lenox, IL, Jeffery (Mark Springer) Armor of Frankfort, IL, Jennifer Fortson of Homewood, IL, Eric (Ali) Miller of Sarasota, FL, and Amy and Jonathon Salazar of Jeffersonville, IN.

He is also preceded in death by his daughter, Barbara A. Thomas, on September 27, 2015.

Wayne was very active in the Boy Scouts when his son was younger. He was also a little league baseball and football coach, and a softball coach for his daughter, Barb, for many years. He loved riding his motorcycle and loved his Ford Mustang. He also enjoyed traveling and fishing.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, April 8, 2017 at 10 a.m. at White-Love Funeral Home, 525 South Second Street, Chesterton with Pastor Dee Miller officiating. Burial will follow at Chesterton Cemetery.

The family will receive friends on Friday, April 7, 2017 from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
