Services Friday for Rosemary A. Stockwell

Rosemary A. Stockwell, age 95, of Chesterton, IN, passed away on Sunday, January 22, 2017.

She was born on June 8, 1921, in Chicago, IL, to Edward J. and Agnes C. (Melody) Dickinson.

Rosemary is survived by her sons; Edward (Carolyn) Stockwell of Northbrook, IL, John (Charlotte) Stockwell of Indianapolis, IN, Thomas (Cindy) Stockwell of Hamlet, IN, and James (Roxanna) Stockwell of St. Louis, MO; daughters, Elizabeth (Roger) Ader of Coatesville, IN, and Suzanne Daugherty of LaPorte, IN; 18 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Louis Stockwell, and brothers Edward J. Dickinson and Alfred T. Dickinson.

Rosemary loved her family. She lived at Rittenhouse of Valparaiso for the last 7 1/2 years and previously was a lifelong resident of Liberty Township. She volunteered at the National Lakeshore and Banta Center. Rosemary stayed very active until recently. She loved playing bingo and she was a founding member of the “Good Time Cloggers.”

Funeral services will be held on Friday, January 27, 2017, at 1:00 p.m., at Edmonds & Evans Funeral Home, 517 Broadway, Chesterton, IN, 46304, with Chaplain Craig Forwalter officiating. Burial will follow at Chesterton Cemetery, Chesterton, IN.

Visitation will be held on Friday from 11:00 a.m. until the time of service at 1:00 p.m. at the funeral home.

Rosemary’s family asks that memorial donations be made to The Banta Senior Center, 605 Beech Street, Valparaiso, IN 46383.
