Services Friday for Larry Ray Carney

Larry Ray Carney, age 65, of Valparaiso, IN, passed away on April 30, 2017.

He was a retired Local 150 Operating Engineer. His loving wife of 38 years, Beatrice (Trixie) Carney, was by his side when he passed.

Larry was a devoted father to his two daughters, Christine (Sean) McConnell of Valparaiso and Scarlet (Ryan) Spain of Chesterton. The joy of Larry’s life was his seven grandchildren: Aiden, Finn, Kiera, Declan and Eve McConnell and Lillian and Alexis Spain.

Larry is also survived by his three siblings whom he loved dearly: Diania (Wally) Cloniger of Scottdale, AZ; Larry’s lifelong best friend Gary (Mary Lou) Carney of Chesterton; and Vickie (Joe Ed) Moore of Sparta, TN. Larry is also survived by several nieces and nephews of whom he was very proud.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Ray and Opal Carney.

Larry was a man who loved adventure and living life to its fullest. His smile and quick wit will be missed by all who knew and loved him.

Funeral service will be held Friday, May 5, 2017, at 11:00 a.m., at Edmonds and Evans Funeral Home, 517 Broadway, Chesterton, IN 46304. Burial will follow at Chesterton Cemetery.

Friends may meet with the family on Thursday, May 4, 2017, from 4-8 p.m., at Edmonds & Evans Funeral Home.
