Avery Elizabeth Nixon, age 2 of Westville, IN, passed away on June 5, 2017.

She was born on February 16, 2015, in Valparaiso, IN to Joshua and Deidre (Millard) Nixon.

She is survived by her parents; brothers, Joshua Nixon II and Chase Nixon; maternal grandparents, Lisa and Carol Dennis and James and Ginny Millard; paternal grandparents, Melinda and Michael Green and Richard Nixon; maternal great- grandparents, Florence Driskell and Shirley Millard; paternal great- grandparents, Norma and Jerry Skorupa-Todd and Sara Carver; maternal great great-grandmother, Lena Desmond; aunts and uncles, Olivia and Chris Walker, Nicole and Nick Meinert, Ashley Dennis, James Millard, Cassandra Fletcher and Jamie Millard; cousins, Natalee and Makenzie Meinert; several great aunts and uncles, many cousins and extended family. She was preceded in death by her maternal great-grandfathers, James Millard, Preston Driskell and Harold Horn; paternal great-grandfathers, Lee Quick, Curtis Nixon and Charles Skorupa.

Avery, adored by her brothers, was her momma’s “Baby Girl” and her daddy’s “Little Princess.” She loved to swing and play outside, her dogs Dallas and Callie, and playing with and watching Minnie Mouse. A sassy and fearless little girl, Avery’s laugh was contagious; bringing joy and laughter to everyone she met. Even at just two, she was very loving and showed great compassion.

A Funeral Service will be held on Friday, June 9, 2017, at 1:00 p.m., at Edmonds & Evans Funeral Home, 517 Broadway, Chesterton, IN, 46304, with Pastor Rick Henderson officiating.

Visitation will be held on Friday, June 9, 2017, from 11:00 a.m. until the time of services at 1:00 p.m., at the funeral home.
