Robert G. Danielson passes away

Robert G. Danielson (Bob) passed away June 2, 2017.

He was born August 8, 1932 in Clay County, South Dakota to Gust and Jennie Danielson.

He was the youngest of four children: brother Roland (deceased) and sisters Louise and Elaine.

Bob lived in South Dakota until 1944 when the family moved to Chesterton, IN. He graduated from Chesterton High School and Valparaiso University.

Bob fell in love with his friend of fourteen years, Jeanette Peterson and they married February 4, 1956.

In June of 1957 Bob was drafted and spent two years in the Army. He spent most of that time at Fort Sill, Oklahoma, where he was an instructor in artillery ballistic meteorology. After being discharged from the Army, he returned to Chesterton where de designed and built their first home, where the son Tim was born February 2 1963.

Bob Spent most of his career selling steel to major manufacturing companies. In 1966, his work took him to Chicago and family moved to Westmont, Illinois, where they lived until retirement, when they moved to Sun City, Arizona in 1999,

Bobís church was always important to him. He participated in youth ministry, ushering, the church council, communion ministry, and served wherever needed.

In Sun City, he enjoyed playing golf, volunteering at Banner Boswell Hospital, playing bridge and taking care of his fruit trees.

Bob is survived by hi wife Jeanette, son Tim (Athalie), granddaughters Grace and Rose, sisters Louise Hill and Elaine Mills, sister-in-law Lorraine Isakson, and many nieces, nephews and good friends.

Memorials may be given to: American Lutheran Church Capital Fund, or Hospice of the Valley.
