Memorial Service Tuesday for Dorothy Jones Covert

Dorothy Jones Covert, 104, of Arlington Heights, Illinois, passed away on Sunday, October 15, 2017.

She was born on May 19, 1913, in New Castle, Indiana, the daughter of Everett E. Jones and Helene G. Jones.

On May 2, 1942, she was married to William V. Covert in her parentís garden in New Castle, Indiana.

She was a long time member of the Northfield Community Church where she served as a Deaconess. She was a member of Chapter JS, P.E.O., Northfield, Illinois. Dorothy attended Stephens College in Missouri before traveling to Washington D.C. where she was a buyer at Garfinckels.

Survivors include son Jeffery W. Covert (Susan) of Mundelein, Illinois, daughter Helene C. Trout (Michael) of Chesterton, Indiana, daughter-in-law Lorraine Covert, Fishers, Indiana; grandchildren Jennifer Waugh (Tucker), West Point, New York, Julie Moreland (Matthew), Lindenhurst, Illinois, Amy Altman (John), Zionsville, Indiana, James Trout (Lindsay), Chesterton, Indiana, Sarah Squok (Brandon), Chesterton, Indiana, Kathryn Trout, LaPorte, Indiana; and eight great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband of fifty-eight years, William, and son Steven Covert.

A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, October 24, at Lutheran Home Chapel, 800 West Oakton, Arlington Heights, Illinois.

Visitation will be at 10:00 a.m., with the service following at 11:00 a.m.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Lutheran Home Foundation, 800 West Oakton, Arlington Heights, Illinois, 60004.
