Memorial service Friday for architect James Hixon Jelliffe

James Hixon “Jim” Jelliffe (b. 1954 in Indianapolis, IN,) passed away on August 10, 2017 in Hulett’s Landing, NY.

Jim was an architect, an artist, and a family man. He was the principal designer of Chesterton High School, for which his firm was awarded the 2001 William W. Caudill Citation for excellence in education design and architecture.

He is survived by his wife Terry, his children Colin, (spouse Christine,) Ashley and Jordan, his mother Jean, his grandchildren Calla, James Oliver, Hixon, Calvin, Hannah, Owen and Aubree, and his siblings Helen, Sylvia, Myla, and John.

He was predeceased by his father John “Jack” Jelliffe, who was also an Indianapolis architect.

A memorial in celebration of his life will be held at Crown Hill Funeral Home, 700 38th Street, Indianapolis, IN, 46208 on Friday, October 20, from 2-4 p.m. EST.
