Gathering Saturday to remember Leroy (Lee) Camel

Leroy (Lee) Camel of Chesterton, died Monday, July 10, 2017, at Loyola Medical in Chicago.

He was born May 1, 1933, in Solon, Ohio.

He was an Army veteran serving in the Marshall Islands during the Korean War. He started Dolphin Chemical Corporation serving the steel industry. Lee raised Angus cattle for 10 years in Valparaiso. In his early years, Lee enjoyed racing cars and racing sail boats.

He is survived by his wife of 44 years Karen Lee; sisters Violet Breedlove, and Lenore Flick; sons Lee (Cheryle), Michael deceased (Paula), and Tom (Chris); five grandchildren: Dylan, Lydia, Neil, Liz (Frank) Gast, and Eric (Sarah); four great-grandchildren: Miles, Riley, Anna, and Nora.

He was preceded in death by his parents Bea and Leroy, and son Michael.

Family and friends will gather at Craft House, Chesterton, Saturday, July 15, from 1 to 4 p.m.
