Celebration of Life October 15 for Charles W. Burger

Charles “Chuck” W. Burger, age 83, of Citrus Springs, FL, passed away September 10, 2017 at the Life Care Center in Lecanto, FL.

Chuck was born on November 12, 1933 in Gary, IN to Earle L. and Doris F. (Bullock) Burger.

He graduated from William A. Wirt High School in Gary, IN, and Eureka College in Eureka, IL. He moved to Florida 17 years ago from Chesterton, IN. Chuck was a retired foreman in the steel industry, a U.S. Army Veteran and of the Protestant faith. Chuck enjoyed reading, watching Fox News and spending time with his beloved grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, Charles was preceded in death by his first wife, Sherry (Wilds) Burger, his brother, Robert Burger and his sister, Jane Burger.

Charles is survived by his wife, Eleanore “Olie” A. Burger; one son, Mark (Betsy) Burger; one daughter, Valerie (David) Barnes; one brother, Jack Burger; and six grandchildren, Madison Burger, Jackson Barnes, Mary Katharine Barnes, Lukas Barnes, Harrison Barnes, and Emily Barnes.

A brunch and celebration of his wonderful life will held at Patrician Banquet Hall, 410 E. Highway 30, Schererville, IN, on Sunday, October 15, 2017, at 11 a.m. If you would like to attend the celebration, please RSVP to or via text or call to 248-921-5778 before October 3, 2017.
