Duane Arthur
Clouse, Sr., passed away peacefully on May 7, 2017, with his family at his
side.
He was born on June
6, 1942, in Valparaiso, IN, to Charles M. Clouse and Helen Mace Clouse, who
preceded him in death.
Duane is survived
by his loving wife of twenty-three years, Linda Dickinson-Clouse, who
resides in Chesterton.
He is also survived
by his children: Toni (Jamie) Mullins of Valparaiso, Duane A. (Tammy) Clouse
Jr. of Carmel, Ryan (Amy) Wright of Indianapolis, Kristen Pritchett of
Chesterton, and Tracy (Jeff) Miller of Chesterton; his grandchildren: Joseph
(Jamie) Wright, Kimberly Mullins, Adlen Clouse, Brieanne Karriman, Justin
Wright, Kayla Karriman, Megan Wright, Brandon Pritchett, Emily Pritchett,
and Garrett Oberle; and his great-grandson, Hendricks Wright.
He is also survived
by his brothers Dennis (Carol) Clouse of Massachusetts and Robert (Linda)
Clouse of Georgia; one sister, Nancy (Jose) Ponce’ of Florida; and many
nieces and nephews.
Duane is also
preceded in death by his sister Lois Eckert, and brothers, James, Richard,
Fred, and Dale Clouse, and his grandson, Logan Wright.
Duane was a member
of CrossPointe Christian Church of Valparaiso. He was a strong believer in
Jesus Christ, Our Savior. He was a proud veteran of the US Army. Astronomy,
genealogy, and traveling were some of his favorite hobbies, but most of all,
he loved completing DIY projects for his family and friends.
Duane was an
adoring husband, doting father and grandfather. He was the rock of his
family. He was always willing to give help when one of the children needed
help or advice on remodeling or questions about cars. He took great pride in
the accomplishments of each one. Duane is remembered by friends and family
for his wit, loving heart, great work ethic and so much more. He was most
recently employed by Advance Auto Parts during his part-time retirement.
The family will
receive friends for a Celebration of Life visitation on Saturday, May 13,
2017, at CrossPointe Church, 114 E US-6 Frontage Rd., Valparaiso, IN, 46383,
from 2 until 4 p.m.
The Memorial
Service will be held at 4 p.m. at the church. A dinner will immediately
follow.
In lieu of flowers,
the family asks that memorial donations be made to a favorite charity.
