Boyd Thomas Cook 'Cookie' passes away at age 73

Boyd Thomas Cook, “Cookie”, 73, of Valparaiso, IN, passed away Wednesday, November 8, 2017.

He was a 1963 graduate of Evarts High School, Evarts, Kentucky; served proudly in the U.S. Air Force until his honorable discharge in 1969, retired from Bethlehem Steel and Arcelor Mittal Steel. He was a member of The American Legion. He enjoyed many hobbies throughout his life: fishing, gardening, family time and various tinkering and house projects.

Boyd was preceded in death by his parents, George and Julia Cook.

He is survived by his high school sweetheart and wife of 52 years, Patsy (Mumford) Cook; daughter, Angela Masson and her husband, Scott; granddaughter, Bryn Masson; sister, Iva Lewis and her husband, Jim; sister, Julia Rigney; sister-in-law, Phyllis Cox, brother-in-law, Joe Mumford and his wife Rita, several nieces, nephews, family and friends.

Boyd’s family will be having a memorial celebration in the future. If desired, families may make memorial donations to VNA Hospice of NWI or St. Jude.
