Services Wednesday for Michael P. Redner 60

Michael P. Redner, age 60 of Aurora, IL, formerly of Porter, IN, passed away on Thursday, April 14, 2016 in Chicago, IL.

He was born on July 27, 1955 in Chicago, IL, to Paul Redner, who preceded him in death, and Jeanine Parry Harris, who survives in Porter.

On October 8, 2003, he married Xiaoyin Redner, who survives in Aurora, IL.

He is also survived by his step-daughter, Anny Jiang of Charlotte, NC; his siblings: Karen (late Fred) Mitchell of Valparaiso, IN, Jim Harris of Porter, IN, Robert (Veronica) Harris of Mill Valley, CA; his nieces, Jill (Brooks) Sayer and Kimberly Mitchell, and his nephew, Griffin Harris, along with his great-nieces, Maya, Gianna, Olivia, and Jorja.

He is also preceded in death by his brother, Thomas Redner.

Michael was a 1973 graduate of Chesterton High School. He worked as a Locomotive Electrician for Union Pacific Railroad for twenty-eight years. He was a proud member of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers (IBEW). He also enjoyed fishing and collecting coins and stamps.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, April 20, 2016, at 12 p.m., at White-Love Funeral Home, 525 S. 2nd St., Chesterton, with Pastor Brooks Sayer officiating. Burial will follow at Chesterton Cemetery.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday from 10 a.m. until time of service.
