James A. Hineline,
age 86 of Chesterton, IN, went to his Father on September 23, 2016, after a
long battle with Parkinsonís disease.
He was born on
December 29, 1929, in Liberty Township, IN to Les (Oliver) and Mildred
Liberty Township School and as a youth enjoyed farming with his team of
horses. He proudly served his country as a Corporal in the Army of the

he married Patricia Koutny in Lake Village, IN. Together they were devoted
parents to Gregory Hineline (Sharon Reynolds) and Joanne Hineline-Zielke
(John). He was proud of his four granddaughters, Megan Sutton (Christopher),
Penelope Kyle (William), Andrea Zielke and Natalie Zielke. He found great
amusement in the antics of his seven great grandchildren, Montgomery and
Agatha Fetters, Charles, Newton, Simon and Annalie Kyle and Zoe Sullivan.
Also surviving are sisters, Judy Hineline Lenhart, Elizabeth Hineline Weldy,
Marian Hineline Goffoli and aunt, Grace Hineline Crk as well as numerous
nieces and nephew.
He was preceded in
death by his parents, sister, Margaret Hineline Stevens and nieces, Cheryl
Stevens Miller and Leslie Stevens Richart.
His love for nature
and wildlife led Jim to a 12 year career as a conservation officer for the
state of Indiana. After 36 years in the construction industry he retired
from Tonn & Blank. After retirement, Jim and Pat traveled throughout the 48
continental United States and enjoyed time gardening. He was especially
devoted to time with his family.
Jim was an active
member of the Indiana Farm Bureau and served as Liberty Township President.
He will always be remembered for his calm quiet nature and witty sense of

Burial will be held on Wednesday, September 28, 2016, at 12:00 p.m., at St.
Patrick Catholic Church, 638 N. Calumet Chesterton, IN, 46304, with Father
James Meade officiating. Burial will follow at St. Patrick Catholic
Visitation will be
from 10:00 a.m. until the time of Mass at noon at the church.
