Services Tuesday for Robert 'Frostee' Altherr

Robert “Frostee” Altherr, 58, of Michigan City passed away August 3, 2016, at St. Anthony Hospital in Michigan City.

Bobby was born in Tipton, Indiana on December 20, 1957 to Patricia (Glassburn) and John C. Altherr.Ę

On March 1, 1989, he married Sherry Griswold who survives.

Also surviving are his children Christopher of Indianapolis, Lydia, Kaitlyn, and Andrew all of Michigan City; his mother Patricia of Kokomo; sister Karyn of Valrico, Florida; brothers: Dan of Kokomo, James of Birmingham, AL, and John of Palm Harbor, Florida. He was loved by his grandchildren and many nieces and nephews; preceded in death by his father John. Ę

Bobby was a Marine Corps veteran. He worked for the Indiana Department of Corrections for 28 years. He loved working on anything with a motor, especially motorcycles. He was a former member of Guardian Riders and Iron Order motorcycle clubs.

Visitation for family and friends will take place on Monday, August 8, 2016, from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. CST, at Geisen-Carlisle Funeral Home, 613 Washington St. Michigan City, IN, 46360, (219) 974-4214, and on Tuesday, August 9, 2016, from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. CST, at First Presbyterian Church, and on Wednesday, August 10, 2016, from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. EST, in Kokomo, IN, at Sunset Memory Garden Funeral Home.

Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday, August 9, 2016, 11:00 a.m. CST, at First Presbyterian Church, 121 W. 9th St., Michigan City, Indiana, with Reverend Dr. Ericka Parkinson-Kilbourne officiating.

Graveside Service will be held on August 10, 2016, 2:00 p.m. EST, at Sunset Memory Garden Kokomo, Indiana.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Toys for Tots/Marine Corp. or donor’s choice.
