Wayne bravely served his country as a sergeant in the Air Force as a young man. Following that, he worked as a technician at Southwestern Bell AT&T for many years before retiring. He was a member of Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Chesterton. He loved fishing, gardening, smoking a good brisket and having great conversations with the people he loved. Most of all, he was a generous and loving husband, father, grandfather, son, brother, uncle, veteran, and loyal friend. He had a strong commitment to serve others. His contagious laughter and smile and giant bear hugs will be missed by all who knew him.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, February 27, 2016, at 11 a.m. Bethlehem Lutheran Church, 2050 W 1100 N, Chesterton, with Pastor Erik Grayvold officiating. The family will receive friends from 10 a.m. until time of service at the church.

In lieu of flowers, memorials given in Wayne’s memory will be placed in a fund for his grandson, Jeremy Laeder. Please make checks payable to Bethlehem Lutheran Church.

Arrangements are under the direction of White-Love Funeral Home, Chesterton.
