Service Friday for Eleanor 'Jayne' Hudspeth, 95

Eleanor "Jayne" Hudspeth (nee Marvin), age 95, of Chesterton, formerly of Merrillville, passed away on Sunday, February 28, 2016 at her home.

Jayne is survived by her two daughters: Marianne (late Bill) Gillum and Karen (Nelson) Howell; grandchildren: Debbi (Jim) Branka, Jeff (Dawn) Rucklos, Leslie Rucklos, Susan (Matt) Lain, Elizabeth (Travis) Stockton, Rebecca (Derek) Mellinger, Andrew Howell and John Howell; 15 great-grandchildren; 4 great-great grandchildren.

Jayne was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond Hudspeth; parents: Harrison and Mary Hilbert Marvin; sister, Helen Marvin Wills; and infant daughter, Lynn Cheryl Hudspeth.

Jayne was a member of the Chesterton United Methodist Church. She devoted much of her time to serving her community as a volunteer with the Red Cross, Girl Scout Leader, Methodist Hospital Auxiliary Volunteer, Duneland Resale Volunteer, and Bereavement Dinner Service Volunteer. Jayne was an accomplished seamstress, and over the years displayed many of her fine textiles as an exhibitor at the Lake County Fair. She will best be remembered as a "kitchen table counselor" and a friend to all.

Friends may visit with the family on Thursday, March 3, 2016, at Geisen Funeral and Cremation Services, 7905 Broadway, Merrillville, IN, 46410, from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, March 4, 2016, at 11:00 a.m. at Geisen Funeral and Cremation Services in Merrillville with Pastor G. Thomas Jones officiating. Burial will take place at Chapel Lawn Memorial Gardens in Schererville.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be given to VNA Hospice of Porter County.
