Robert Wallace 'Bob' Martin passes away at age 61

Robert Wallace “Bob” Martin, age 61 of Chesterton, Indiana passed away in his sleep on January 28, 2016.

Bob was born February 16, 1954, in East Chicago, Indiana, to the late Robert L. and Barbara Jean (Salwinski) Martin.

Also preceding him in death is his sister Betty Jean Calvin and grandson, Noah Hopkins.

Bob is survived by his loving wife, Jacqueline (Peck) Martin, loving children, Dawn R. Hopkins (Gene Copas) of Indianapolis, Indiana; Pennie L. Martin of Illinois; Ryan P. Martin (Amanda Lara) of Chesterton; Indiana and Candice Martin (John Whitehouse) of Steger, Illinois; grandchildren, Brian, Katelyn, Maya, Dylan, Gage and Abigail, brother, Ronald L. Martin and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Bob graduated from East Chicago Roosevelt High School and La Salle University. He was retired from the trucking industry. He was a member of the Indiana Patriot Guard, Harley Owners Group and Duneland Harley Owners Group. He loved his family and his Harley Davidson motorcycle. He was a fantastic cook. He will be greatly missed by those who loved him.

There are no services at this time. A memorial service will be held at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the family.
