Lucile Kotansky, a
resident of Ogden Dunes, Indiana, since 2000, died at home on September 1.
She was born Lucile
Morlan in White County, Illinois, on December 8, 1929, and graduated from
Streator High School in 1948.
In 1950 she married
Ray Kotansky, who died in 1989. They lived in Streator, Illinois, where she
worked as a seamstress for Opdycke’s. In 2000, she moved to Ogden Dunes
where she lived with her daughter, Karen Tallian.
She leaves four
children: Karen Tallian of Ogden Dunes; David Kotansky of Ransom, Illinois;
Diane Patton of Brookfield, Illinois; and James Kotansky of Jacksonville,
Illinois. She also leaves six grandchildren: Mike, Chris, and Aimee Tallian;
Andy Kotansky; and Lauren and Matthew Patton. She is also survived by one
sister, Eloise Fuller of Streator, and three brothers: Kenneth and Darrell
of Streator; and Loren of Peru, Illinois.
Lucile was a former
member of the Ogden Dunes church choir and Prime Timers. She continued to be
a valued and talented seamstress in the community until recent years. She
was lucky enough to be very quick-witted into her last days. She was also an
insatiable reader and was always current on local and national news.

A Memorial Open
House is planned for September 17, 2016 from 3 Ð 7 p.m. - at the Ogden Dunes
Firehouse.
In her honor, the
family wishes to plant a special tree in Ogden Dunes. In lieu of flowers,
contributions can be made to the Ogden Dunes Community Fund, 1401 Calumet
Ave., Valparaiso, IN 46383, with notation from Lucile Kotansky.
