Memorial in the spring for Ronald James Cooper, 84

Ronald James Cooper, 84, passed away Sunday, January 17, 2016 at his residence in Golden, Mississippi.

He was born in Gary, Indiana to Sidney and Florence (Lockwood) Cooper.

He graduated from Chesterton High School in 1950 and was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force. Ron worked for and retired from the Duneland School system as Head Custodian for Yost Elementary School in 1993. He attended Christ the King Catholic Church in Fulton, Mississippi. He enjoyed working on genealogy, collecting antiques, and cookbooks.

Survivors include, brothers, Kenneth Cooper (Lois), Mesa, AZ, Leonard Cooper (Janice), Chesterton, IN, Robert Cooper (Jennifer), Ellettsville, IN and sister, Phyllis Evans (Daniel), Chesterton, IN, best friend Waylon Provins, and a host of nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Sidney Cooper Jr. and one sister, Jeanette Sibbrell.

There will be memorial service in the spring.

Ron was a great brother, uncle, great-uncle, great-great uncle, and friend. He will be sorely missed.
