Mary Lee 'Molly' McGinty passes away at age 91

Mary Lee "Molly" McGinty, 91, of Chesterton, IN, passed away on December 22, 2016, at Milford Hospice Center in Milford, Delaware.

Mrs. McGinty was born in Oil City, PA, on April 16, 1925, to John and Kathryn (Snyder) Stoughton, both of whom preceded her in death.

She was also preceded in death by her husband of 55 years, Henry J. McGinty in 2001. A grandson, Henry Joseph McGinty also preceded her.

She is survived by her five children: John (MaryAnn) of Erie, PA; Terrence (Jane) of Camden, DE; Rory Kevin (Barbara) of Downers Grove, IL; Tim (Nancy) of Chesterton, IN; and Mary (Sean) Dalton of Viola, DE; also 13 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; and two great-great grandchildren. She is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews.

Mary Lee graduated from Oil City High School, Welch’s Business College and attended Temple University in Philadelphia, PA, for two years. She was a loving mother, grandmother and a homemaker. For many years she worked as a cashier at Big T and Costas grocery stores in Chesterton. She was a member of St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Chesterton. She loved knitting and visiting Ireland.

A mass of Christian Burial will take place at a later date at St. Stephen’s Catholic Church in Oil City, PA, where she will be laid to rest with her husband.
