William G. Corrigan, 62, passes away

William G. Corrigan “Memo,” age 62 of Porter, passed away on Saturday, August 15, 2015 at Porter Regional Hospital. He was born on September 12, 1952 in Chicago, IL to his father, George Corrigan, who preceded him in death and his mother, Olivia “Alice” Mugica-Corrigan who survives in Dyer, IN.

William is also survived by his son, Brian Corrigan of Tucson, AZ, his daughter, Samantha (Ben) Ortegon and his grandchildren: Nathan and Amanda Ortegon. He is also survived by his siblings: James Corrigan of California, Barbara Patai of Las Vegas, NV, Bernadette (Tony) Monda of Portage, IN, and Michael Corrigan of Dyer, IN, along with many nieces and nephews.

William worked at the Steel Mill for thirty years. His favorite hobby was writing and he wrote many books about the steel mill. He also worked at the Westchester Township History Museum for ten years. He was a proud and loving grandfather.

The family will receive friends on Saturday, August 22, 2015 from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. at White-Love Funeral Home, 525 South 2nd Street, Chesterton.
