Services Wednesday for Emma E. Nellessen, 95

Emma E. Nellessen, age 95 of Chesterton, IN, passed away on Thursday, June 25, 2015, in Chesterton, IN.

She was born on March 12, 1920, in Michigan City, IN, to Frank and Henderika (Kramer) Groth. She was married to George E. Nellessen on July 30, 1938.

She is survived by her grandchildren, Adam Thomas Nellessen (fiance, Maliani Correa) and Machelle Blount.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, son, Thomas Paul Nellessen, brothers, Paul and Fred Brown; sisters, Frances Donnersberger and Rose Lange and best friend of 60 years, Josephine Darling.

Emma loved gardening, her house was a showplace and she loved entertaining. She always had a hug for everyone. Emma loved people and was very devoted to her family and friends. Her Catholic faith was very important to her. She was an active member of St. Patrick Catholic Church and worked for many years at St. Patrickís school as a teacherís aide.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Wednesday, July 1, 2015, at 10:00 a.m., at St. Patrick Catholic Church, 638 N. Calumet Road, Chesterton, IN, with Father James Meade officiating. Interment to follow at St. Patrick Catholic Cemetery.

Visitation will be held Tuesday, June 30, 2015, from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., with a Rosary Service to be held at 4:00 p.m. at Edmonds & Evans Funeral Home, 517 Broadway, Chesterton, IN, 46304.
