Services Saturday for Perry 'Jimmy' Veden

Perry “Jimmy” Veden, age 62, lifelong area resident, currently of Valparaiso, IN, passed away on Monday, July 13, 2015, at his home.

Perry married Carole Shooter in Chesterton, IN, on October 7, 1972.

He was born July 19, 1952 in Valparaiso, IN to Earl Bud Veden and Louise Baker.

Perry worked for Mittal Steel as a ladle liner. He was a member of American Legion Post #502 and the South Haven Lions Club. Perry was a softball coach, fishermen, musician and car enthusiast. He enjoyed life and loved his family and friends dearly.

He is survived by his loving wife, Carole Veden of Valparaiso; daughter, Teena (Scott) Gebert of Chesterton; sons, Todd (Jen) Veden of Valparaiso and Tim Veden of Porter; brother, Earl Lee Veden of Portage; sisters, Donna Veden of Chesterton and Connie Krantz of Porter; sister-in-law, Connie Klemp of Valparaiso; grandchildren, Perri, Reilly and Ryan Gebert and Cyrus Veden; and many nieces, nephews and cousins. Perry was preceded in death by his parents; father and mother-in-law, George and Eleanor Shooter; sister-in-law, Judy Davison; brothers-in-law, Dick Shooter and Walt Klemp.

Funeral service will be held on Saturday, July 18, 2015, at 3:00 p.m., at Edmonds & Evans Funeral Home, 517 Broadway, Chesterton, IN 46304.

Visitation will be held on Saturday prior to service from 1:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m.

Memorials for Perry may be made to the family.
