Services Monday for Helen Loncaric

Helen Loncaric, age 84 of Valparaiso, IN, passed away on Thursday, February 12, 2015, at the VNA Hospice Center in Valparaiso.

She was born on March 9, 1930 in Chicago, IL, to Joel and Margaret Beck-Barnes, both of whom preceded her in death. On September 2, 1950, at St. Marks Church in Gary, IN, she married Joseph Loncaric, who preceded her in death on January 3, 1996.

Helen is survived by her son, Tom (Sandy) Loncaric of Frisco, TX, and her daughter, Terry (Debbie) Loncaric of Palatine, IL, and grandson, Casey Thomson.

She is also survived by her sister, Dolores Love of Lowell, IN.

She is also preceded in death by her sister, Evelyne Robinson and her brothers, Charles and William Barnes, as well as her special nephew, Jim Love.

Helen was a member of St. Paul Catholic Church in Valparaiso, and was a fifty year member of the Croatian Fraternal Union Lodge #170. She was a 1948 graduate of Lew Wallace High School.

She was a loving mother, loyal friend and kind caregiver.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, February 16, 2015, at St. Paul Catholic Church, 1855 Harrison Blvd, Valparaiso, IN, 46384, with Father Joseph Pawlowski officiating. Burial will follow at Calumet Park Cemetery, Merrillville.

The family will receive friends on Sunday, February 15, 2015, from 2 until 7 p.m. at White-Love Funeral Home, 525 South 2nd St., Chesterton, IN.
