Services Friday for Laura Jean Clemans

Laura Jean Clemans, age 76, of LaPorte, IN, passed away on October 4, 2015, at her home.

She was born in Gary, IN, on December 23, 1938, to George and Mabel Musgrave (Weck).

She is survived by her sons, David Geissler of Knox, IN, Douglas (Peggy) Geissler of LaPorte, IN, Daniel (Kay) Geissler of Chesterton, IN, William “Charles” (Rhiannon) Musgrave of LaPorte, IN; brothers, Jack Musgrave of Chesterton, IN and James Musgrave of Otis, IN; sister, Janice Rippe; five grandchildren, David, Russell, Kalob, Chucky and Sydney and many extended family and friends.

She is preceded in death by her parents, brothers Cleon Musgrave, George Walter Musgrave, Richard Musgrave, Jerry Musgrave; sisters, Judy Davis, Mary Kirby, Norma Wixon and Sally Musgrave.

Laura was a lifelong area resident and was a former ladies auxiliary member for the Pines Fire Department for eight years, Homemakers Club, and was the head of collections for the March of Dimes. She will be deeply missed by her family and friends.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, October 9, 2015, at 10:00 a.m. at Edmonds & Evans Funeral Home, 517 Broadway, Chesterton, IN, with Pastor Bob Burton officiating. Burial will take place at Chesterton Cemetery.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, October 8, 2015, from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Laura’s honor may be made to St. Jude Children’s hospital @ www.stjude.org or to the U.S.O. at www.uso.org/Donate.
