Brian Oliver, Age 70, of Chesterton, IN passed Friday, August 14, 2015. Brian was born August 11, 1945 in Chicago, IL to Bruce A. Oliver II and Loraine Karl Oliver.

He is survived by his loving wife, Sue Oliver of Chesterton; son, Brian (Tonya) Oliver of Chesterton; daughter, Tracy (Tom) Fieffer of Chesterton; sister, Janice Milam of Westville, IN; grandchildren, Bryton, Carson and Dylan Oliver and Elisha and Joshua Fieffer; brothers-in-law, Dick (Carol) Mategko, Jerry (Dorothy) Mategko and Mike (Janet) Mategko all of Minnesota. He was also survived by many nieces and nephews and great friends. Brian was preceded in death by his parents, Bruce and Loraine Oliver and brothers, Bruce A. Oliver and Alan Oliver.

Brian was a proud veteran of the U.S. Navy. He worked as a operator at Mittal Steel for over 49 years. He was a member of St. Patrick Catholic Church. He was also a member of the Knights of Columbus, previously serving as a Grand Knight, American Legion Post 170 where he formerly served 8 years as Post Commander. Brian was also an active member of the Chesterton Moose Lodge 1623.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, August 21, 2015 at 12:00 Noon at St. Patrick Catholic Church, 638 N. Calumet Ave., Chesterton, IN. Burial will follow at St. Patrick Catholic Cemetery in Chesterton. Visitation will be held on Thursday, August 20th, from 3:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. with Wake Service at 5:30 p.m. at Edmonds & Evans Funeral Home, 517 Broadway, Chesterton, IN 46304. Memorial donations may be made to St. Patrick Catholic Church, Porter County Cancer Society or the VNA Hospice Center. Online condolences may be left for the family at
