Wolfgang P. Pflughaupt, 88, of Valparaiso, passed away Tuesday, February 3, 2015.

He was born on December 10, 1926 in Darmstadt, Germany, to Hermann and Anna Maria (Worth) Pflughaupt.

Wolfgang served his country in the Army before attending Valparaiso University. He then went on to work for many years in the steel industry as a draftsman at U.S. Steel. He was a lifelong member of the Prince of Peace Lutheran Church and fondly served as a Scout Master for Boy Scout Troop #95 in Valparaiso.

On November 9, 1952, he married Betty Brown, who survives, along with four children: Dennis Pflughaupt of Valparaiso, Dale (Karen) Pflughaupt of Chesterton, Philipp (Sharon) Pflughaupt of Blue Springs, MO, and David (Kim) Pflughaupt of LaPorte; eight grandchildren: Matthew (Jennifer), Zachary, Dalton, Scott, Dylan, Derek, Kate, and Connor; and one great-grandchild, Lilly.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

A funeral service will be held on Friday, February 6, 2015, at 1:00 p.m. at Prince of Peace Lutheran Church, 234 W. Division Road, Valparaiso, with Reverend William Foy officiating. Burial will follow at Graceland Cemetery.

Visitation will be Friday at the church from 11:00 a.m. until the time of service.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Prince of Peace Building Fund.
