Service Friday for Ronald L. Pilarski age 83

Ronald L. Pilarski, Sr., 83, Michigan City, Indiana, passed away Thursday, April 16, 2015 at 1:45 a.m. in his home.

He was born August 8, 1931, in Michigan City, Indiana, to the late Joseph and Barbara (Glowinski) Pilarski.

On June 2, 1956 in Otis, Indiana he married Patsy Fries, who survives in Michigan City, IN.

Also surviving are two daughters, Rose Cisar and Mary Pilarski, both of Michigan City, IN; two sons, Ronald L. (Virgie) Pilarski, Jr. of Michigan City, IN, Michael (Kathleen) Pilarski of Valparaiso, IN; eight grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; two sisters, Barbara Wroblewski and Imelda (Ken) Zarazee, both of Michigan City, IN; and three brothers, Jerome Pilarski of Mebane, NC, Lawrence (Carol) Pilarski of Michigan City, IN, and James Pilarski of Michigan City, IN.

He was also preceded in death by a brother, Gerald Pilarski; son-in-law, Glenn Cisar; and his grandchild, Phillip Cisar.

Ron was a farmer and retired from Bethlehem Steel. He was a U.S. Army Veteran of the Korean Conflict and was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church/Otis, IN, American Legion Skwiat Post 451 and the Westchester Horseshoe League. Ron enjoyed attending auctions.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, April 24, 2015, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, 101 N. Church St., Otis, IN, with Rev. Gerald Schweitzer officiating. Burial will follow in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Otis, IN with full military services conducted by the American Legion Skwiat Post 451 and the V.F.W. 2536.

Visitation will be from 9:00 am until Mass time Friday at St. Mary’s Catholic Church. The Ott/Haverstock Funeral Chapel is handling arrangements.
