George Howard Bush,
72, of Roselle, IL, passed away June 28, 2015, after a lengthy illness.
He was born, April
7, 1943, in Valparaiso, IN, to the late George and Marjorie Bush.
George graduated
from Chesterton HS in 1961 and received his Bachelor’s Degree from Indiana
State University in 1965.
He was married to
Jean Martin Bush (Hebron, IN) and they recently celebrated their 50th
wedding anniversary.
George is survived
by his children Greg (Stephanie) Bush, Kim (Tom) Pera and Kati (Todd)
Samargia; grandchildren Austin, Alexis, Brevin, Zander, Greyson and Logan;
sister Judy (Bob) and nephews Brad (Tammy) and Marc (Carrie) Dickison.
George worked in a
variety of administrative and managerial settings involving hotel and foods
industries. He was an avid Cubs and Bears fan and enjoyed the honor of
becoming an Eagle Scout as a teen in Chesterton. George was an active youth
at the Chesterton United Methodist Church and as an adult member of several
Illinois United Methodist churches. He served in many leadership roles along
with his wife, Jean, in the Northern Illinois Conference. George served as a
board member for Outdoor and Retreat Ministries, the Methodist Youth
Services and was active with the United Methodist Men.
Celebration of Life
services were held on July 2, 2015, at the Kingswood United Methodist Church
in Buffalo Grove, Illinois.
