Eleanor Lind dies at age 96; services Wednesday

Eleanor Marie Lillian Lind passed away on January 4, 2015 at the age of 96. She spent many years living in Chesterton and the last few years living in Valparaiso.

She was born on May 26, 1918 in Chicago, IL to William Martin and Marie Kater-Framke, both of whom preceded her in death.

Eleanor is survived by her children: Wayne (Jackie) Lind of Chesterton, IN, Dale (Carolyn) Lind of Queen Creek, AZ, Karen (Jim) Ray of Valparaiso, IN and Dawn (Ken) Kuehn of Valparaiso, IN, as well as five grandchildren, six great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

Eleanor is also preceded in death by her husband, Harold A. Lind in 1965, one great-granddaughter, her brother, Clarence Framke and her sister, Violet Ott.

Her hobbies included crocheting and reading.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, January 7, 2015, at 11:30 a.m. at St. Paul Lutheran Church, 106 East 1100 North, Chesterton, IN, 46304, with Rev. Erich Fickel officiating. Burial will follow at Chesterton Cemetery.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday, January 6, 2015, from 3 until 7 p.m., at White-Love Funeral Home, 525 South 2nd Street, Chesterton.
