Donald A. Stueber, age 55 of Chesterton, IN, passed away on Tuesday, January 6, 2015, at home.

He was born February 28, 1959 in Valparaiso, IN, to Arthur and Irene (Slont) Stueber. Don was married on May 3, 1986, to Mary Ann (Evans) Stueber.

He survived by his wife, Mary Ann of Chesterton; daughter, Jennifer Lowry and grandchildren, Briana and Evan Lowry of Chesterton; brothers, Craig of Chesterton, Ronald “Boz” of Chesterton, Mark (wife, Nancy) of Valparaiso, and Arthur “Arce” (wife, Kim) of Chesterton; sisters, Teri (husband, Larry) Taylor and Pam (husband, Ron) Horton of Chesterton and special uncle, Ron (Missy) Stueber of WI. Don had many special nieces and nephews and lots of great friends.

Don worked for Edmonds & Evans Funeral Home in Portage at Heritage Cemetery and Crematory, where he was superintendent of grounds and manager of cremation operations since its origination in 1997. He was a member of American Legion SAL Post 170 and VFW Men’s Auxiliary Post 2511. Don was a devoted Pittsburgh Steelers Fan, he was a true Steeler.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, January 10, 2015, at 11:00 a.m., at Edmonds & Evans Funeral Home, 517 Broadway, Chesterton, IN, with Pastor Scott Tyring officiating. Burial will follow at Chesterton Cemetery.

Visitation will be held on Friday, January 9, 2015, from 4:00 until 7:00 p.m., at the funeral home.
