Anthony Gardner services Friday

Anthony Gardner, age 83 of Porter passed away on Monday, April 6th, 2015. He was born February 9th, 1932. In 1956 Anthony was married to his wife of 59 years, Rosalie (Wozniak) Gardner who survives of Porter, IN.

Anthony is also survived by his children, David (Sue), Debra (Mark), and Darcy (Arnie); grandchildren, Travis, Stephanie, Spencer, Grant and Kara; brother-in-law Jim Wozniak; and many loving extended family members, friends and neighbors.

Anthony was a United States Air Force Veteran who served in the Korean War, and member of American Legion Post 369 in East Chicago. He was a retired Pipefitter for Pipefitters Local # 597, and a member of St. Patrick Catholic Church in Chesterton. Anthony was an avid reader. He loved nature and stayed very active. He enjoyed bird-watching, gardening and biking.

Funeral Services will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Friday, April 10, 2015, at Edmonds & Evans Funeral Home, 517 Broadway, Chesterton, IN, 46304, with Father James Meade officiating.

Visitation will be held Friday, April 10, 2015, from 10:00 a.m. until the time of services at 12:00 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Anthony’s honor may be made to St. Patrick Catholic Church, 638 N. Calumet Ave., Chesterton, IN, 46304.
