Nathan “Nate” Steven Cook, 21, of Valparaiso, died March 2, 2013.
He was born on May 22, 1991 in Valparaiso, the son of Jefferey and Kimberly
(Rogers) Cook.
He is survived by his mother, Kimberly (Russell Hominger) Cook; father,
Jefferey (Sandra Joseph) Cook; brother, Jefferey Cook II of Valparaiso;
nephew, Maddex Cook; step-brothers, Joshua Hominger of Valparaiso, Chris
Joseph of Michigan City, and Alex Hancock of Michigan City; step-sisters,
Kristina Hominger of Valparaiso, and April Hancock of Michigan City;
maternal grandparents, Russ and Cheryl Rogers of Portage; paternal
grandparents, Guy and Ro Hamersley of Portage; and many cousins, aunts, and
uncles.
Nathan was dearly loved by his great grandparents, was a very fun and happy
person to be around, and could brighten up a room. He was very close with
his brother Jefferey and loved spending time with friends. They often spent
time fishing, camping, and hunting. Nathan also enjoyed playing his Xbox,
working on bikes and cars, and was a self-taught guitar player.
Funeral services, Don Newman officiating, are scheduled for 12 p.m.
Saturday, March 9, at Edmonds & Evans Funeral Home, 6941 Central Ave. in
Portage. Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery in Portage.
Visitation is scheduled from 10 a.m. on Saturday until the time of services
at the funeral home.
