Patrick Renehan service set for Friday

Patrick A. Renehan, age 40 of Chesterton, Ind., passed away Sunday, January 20, 2013 in Chicago, Ill., after battling brain cancer since 2002.

He was born May 24, 1972 in Valparaiso, Ind., to Jerome H. and Bernardine (Richey) Renehan Jr., who survive in Chesterton, Ind.

Patrick was married on January 3, 1998 to Amy (Franclemont) Renehan, who survives of Chesterton, Ind.

Patrick is also survived by his son, Jerome H. Renehan, IV of Chesterton, Ind.; brother, John D. (Denise) Renehan, Sr., of Hobart, Ind.; sisters, Patricia A. Renehan (Ben Vodrazka) of Scottsdale, Ariz., Tari M. (Scott) Blalock of Hesperia, Calif., and Edie (Mick) Rains of Burns Harbor, Ind.; and many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his brother, Jerome H. Renehan III.

Patrick was a veteran of the US Marine Corps and served in the National Guard. He loved sports, especially football, and was a coach for Pop Warner. Patrick also enjoyed guns and target shooting. He was known for his humor and trivia knowledge.

Funeral services will be held Friday, January 25, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. at Duneland Community Church, 1552 Pioneer Trail, Chesterton, Ind., with visitation from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service. Burial will follow at McCool Cemetery, Portage, Ind.

Visitation will also be held Thursday, January 24, 2013 from 3:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Edmonds & Evans Funeral Home, 517 Broadway, Chesterton, Ind.

Memorials may be made to a trust fund established for his son, made payable to Jerome Henry Renehan, IV.
