Jean Lawrence, age 92 of Michigan City, Ind., passed away on Tuesday, March 26, 2013 at the Franciscan St. Anthony Health in Michigan City.

She was born on October 5, 1920 in Harvey, Ill., to Cornelius and Cora Flatt Zaideman, both of whom preceded her in death.

She is survived by her children Kathy Brannon of Michigan City and Larry (Katie) Lawrence of Monroe, Utah, grandchildren Debbie Lawrence, Kimberly Lawrence and Sonja (Chris) Kolikias, great-grandchildren Chloe Lawrence and Lili Coneg, a brother Jim Zaideman of Chesterton, Ind., and many, many loving nieces, nephews and cousins.

Jean was preceded in death by her husband Dub Lawrence in June of 1984, siblings Grace Marsh, Gertie Janoski, Florence Main, John Zaideman and Neil Zaideman.

Jean was a Navy Mother Commander of Culver City, California, and also the State Commander. She was a salesperson for WT Grant and JC Penney. She enjoyed writing letters, playing poker and watching her family play baseball. She loved driving her wibble wobble van.

Funeral services will be on Tuesday, April 2, 2013 at 7:00 p.m. from the White-Love Funeral Home, 525 South 2nd St., Chesterton, Ind., with Pastor Lorrayne Rizer officiating.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday from 4:00 p.m. until the time of service at the funeral home.

Jeanís cremains will be taken to California to be placed in the Crystal Cathedral.

Memorials may be given to the family to help offset the expenses of traveling to California.
