Harriet A. (Vallangeon) Huff, age 83, passed away Monday, January 14, 2013,
at her home.
She was born June 24, 1929 in Chicago, Ill., to Harry and Lenore Dust, both
of whom preceded her in death.
She is survived by her children Harry (Carole) Vallangeon of Chesterton,
Ind., Gary (Gail) Vallangeon of Valparaiso, Ind., Guy (Karen) Vallangeon of
Porter, Ind., David Vallangeon of Grovertown, Ind. and Wynne (Scott) Ton of
Porter, Ind.; 22 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren, step-children Peter,
James and John Huff, all of Hobart, Ind. and Kathleen Huff of Harbor
Springs, Mich., and two brothers, Harold Dust of Griffith, Ind. and Harvey
(Joan) Dust of Orland Park, Ill.
Harriet was preceded in death by her husband Bert Huff, February 12, 2011.
She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Portage and the Women’s
Guild at St. John United Church. She belonged to the Red Hat Ladies, was an
official member of TOPS and part of the Hobart Homemakers. She was also a
member of the Allegiance Primetimers Club, active in Duneland Seniors and
Westport Homemakers. Her favorite hobby was stamping and creating her own
personalized cards to send to her friends and family.
Funeral services will be on Thursday, January 17, 2013, at 5:00 p.m., with
Pastor Tim Reyna officiating, from the White-Love Funeral Home, 525 South
2nd St., Chesterton, Ind.
The family will receive friends from 1:00 p.m. until time of service on
Thursday at the funeral home.
